“Conceived on the Fourth of July” had a specific effect of me. I initially watched it at the film when I was 13. I didn’t see much about governmental issues or war at the time. However, it absolutely struck some harmony inside myself. And afterward I watched that film a few times more in my “grown-up” life and, to me, it’s one of Oliver Stone’s absolute best. Just as Tom Cruise’s enlistment into genuine Hollywood fame, overlook “Mixed drink” and “Top Gun”. The manner in which enthusiasm is delineated, it’s cloak of obliviousness, god-family-and-the-flag…the way Vietnam ‘vets’ were deceived, used…cannon-feed for US lawmakers is fabulous. The magnificence is that “Conceived on the Fourth of July” isn’t distressingly political or in any capacity disparaging.
